Multiple Startup Projects in Visual Studio 2010

October 9, 2010 Written by Charles Cook

When debugging multi-process projects, such as a client-server application, it's very useful to be able to debug more than one process at at time, for example client and server processes. You can hit F5 in Visual Studio 2010 to launch the default startup project and then launch the other project by right-clicking on the project in the Solution Explorer, but there is a better way of doing this. Right-click on the Solution in the Solution Explorer and select Set Startup Projects... and configure your startup options in this dialog:

It's self-explanatory and once configured you only have to hit F5 to launch multiple projects at the same time.
