Hide Main Menu

Following my post last week about Minimalistic Visual Studio Layout I installed the Hide Main Menu Visual Studio extension to free up some more vertical space. According to the extension's home page:

After installing this extension, Visual Studio's main menu will collapse when not in use (using the same behavior as Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer). To use the menu, simply press and release the Alt key, or press and release Alt+<shortcut> to directly show a menu (e.g. Alt+F to show the file menu). The menu bar will automatically hide again once you're finished using it.

The extension works very well and I soon found it second nature to hit the Alt key with my left thumb when I wanted to use the menu. Now I just need something to show the build status without having to display the status bar.
